This picture I took while I was on the train to Sapa from Hanoi. The 8-hour overnight train wasn’t the most comfortable ride – in fact it was more like sleeping on a roller coaster plus the deafening noise and all – but it was much more comfortable than probably lolling in a chair for that long. I was supposed to be in another room, but somebody who introduced herself as a travel agent came up to me and told me that I was given the wrong ticket and that I had to move to another room. I told her that the hotel from which I bought my ticket never informed me of that – and that she shouldn’t just come to me and ask me to move to another room when I wasn’t even sure who exactly she was. I mean, she could be anybody. She was all apologetic and yet I didn’t just swap my ticket without spraying my venomous words right to her face. I mean, I had every right to be pissed off. She was doing it for the convenience of her group of tourists. That small Hyper Gear bag had contained among others – an MP3 player and my brand new phone charger. In the rush of the hour upon arriving, I absent-mindedly left it behind. Karma? May be. May be God wanted to tell me that I should always be nice to people. Heh.
