Back to Kinabalu

So, I was back in Sabah for Christmas and later New Year very recently. I spent most of my time at home, trying to catch as much time with the family as I could since I had not been home for quite some time. Time flew by so fast and before I knew it, I had at least a few more days before I returned to my job in KL. I was suddenly desperate to do something quite out of the ordinary.

That was when the idea of climbing Mount Kinabalu came about. It was a very last minute plan. It was more like a substitute to the original plan of conquering Mount Tombuyukon, Malaysia’s 3rd highest mountain which is surpassed only by its two neighbors Mount Trus Madi and of course Mount Kinabalu itself. 9 Things I Did in 2013

Here comes another year in my life. I wouldn’t say 2013 was the most eventful among all the years that I have lived through so far in my life but I’d still consider it a very colorful one. Here are some of the things that I did in 2013 which are probably worth (being) highlighted.

1. Took a selfie at the mouth of an active volcano

Visiting BETLEHEM : The Birthplace of My Faith

It is just so timely that it will be Christmas so soon from now and here I am blogging about my visit to the very place where it all began. I mean, what happened in Betlehem over 2000 years ago is the reason why Christmas is celebrated all over the world every December 25 and I feel so blessed to have been there in my recent visit to what is always considered the Holy Land at least in the Christian world.

All the while I did not know that Betlehem was located in Palestine and not in Israel. But then these two countries used to be one in the past and even now with all the political and territorial complications it is very hard to tell which belongs to which. You wouldn’t even find Palestine on Google maps but then Google itself was co-founded by two Jews so one should not really wonder 🙂 Continue reading
