Finally, Mount Ledang CHECKED!

It was a plan made to wait for too long. I had always wanted to climb Mount Ledang ever since I moved to KL about two and half years ago. I had been looking forward to doing it but I never got the chance until Muar Cross Country Half Marathon came about. It was a weekend trip not to be wasted a bit. I would climb Mount Ledang and run a Half Marathon the very next day. I know it was a bit overambitious but I always believed in the idea that ‘if not now, then when?’. Heh.

All the while I thought booking a date to climb Mount Ledang would be very fussy. The thought of it alone was already a turn off. Then, after my asking around had proved to be futile, I made a phone call to Johor National Parks Corporation whose contact number I had searched online and voila! Finally, a Taste of a Trail Run!

So, I did my first run this year – a half marathon – if the one that I did at KL International Jazz Earth Run about a month earlier wasn’t even considered a run. This time I did it in Muar, or at Muar Cross Country Half Marathon to be exact. It was also an overambitious plan of conquering Mt Ophir and running for a half marathon back to back on a single weekend. Erkk!

Muar that I found out was such a big and busy town. Located at the mouth of Muar River, it is a town that has a very long history where beautiful buildings with historical values still exist in abundance. Continue reading

Save Bukit Tabur

BUKIT TABUR is without doubt one of the best and probably most easily accessible hiking destinations in KL. For me it is one of the most precious natural gifts that God (or your God) has granted to KL and its inhabitants. I mean, seriously, when I first scaled the hill all the way up to its peak/s, the beauty of Bukit Tabur and the wonderful view that it offered from up there had taken me by surprise.
