Beef Cooked with Ants, Anyone?

I did hear about it but never really thought of ever seeing it, let alone tasting it, probably not in this life.

Until.

I went to Siem Reap.

I was told by Melissa the owner of Siem Reap Rooms Guesthouse where exactly to find it. Apparently, it was very near to the centre of town. In fact, it was very near to the guesthouse itself.

It is a place where many of the locals but less of the tourists would go to, probably because the foods are too exotic for them. May be.

With a head held high, I ordered for a dish. Beef Cooked with Ants as it was described. Of course it had its own name in Khmer but there was no way I could ever remember it. Continue reading

Truly A Sabahan Traveler

I’d say he’s truly a Sabahan traveler. Last time I checked, the picture of this uncle donning a traditional Kadazan costume at the Great Wall of China has garnered 2,256 likes and 89 shares (and definitely counting).

I wonder if I’d get as many likes and shares if I wore the traditional costume to say, the Pyramids in Egypt or probably the Statue of Liberty in New York. Continue reading

Singapore ZOO : The Best Zoo in The World ?

Well, with all the hypes about Singapore Zoo, I was more than happy when our Singaporean friend (or rather, a Malaysian working in Singapore) offered to give us free tickets to what is considered the best zoo in the world.

It was actually my second visit there with the first one was merely to the Night Safari. The Night Safari didn’t really make a good impression on me that I actually regretted dishing out some SGD35 just so see shadows moving in the dark. Continue reading
