Visiting DELHI Attractions

Let’s put my posts on Bangkok on hold and return to New Delhi for a moment. It doesn’t feel good to leave it hanging just like that when there are still so many things to tell about this wonderful city.

My last post on India had been about my trip to The Lotus Temple and it was good to finally see something of highly modern and futuristic architecture in New Delhi.It was just our first destination of the day and we had at least a few more places to visit all bundled up in the 800 rupees as agreed upon by the Tuk Tuk driver. Our next destination would be a UNESCO World Heritage Site so you know how the excitement is always there for me whenever I’m heading to a place with such a high reputation. Continue reading →

Touring BANGKOK

Our full-day tour of the city began on our second day in Bangkok. I’ve come to realize how shops open quite late there and it’s a no surprise that you’d see how vehicles are still scarce on the streets even when it’s already 8 am.

The booming tourism industry in Bangkok doesn’t seem to have changed the city and its people at least linguistically. As the only nation in South East Asia that has never been colonized by any Western power, the people seem to struggle conversing in any other language but their own. Ordering food might be a little bit of problem so you’ll just need to know how to use your body language. Continue reading →

Revisiting BANGKOK

So… I visited Bangkok a couple of weeks ago despite all the warnings against traveling to the flood-stricken region. I actually bought my ticket to Bangkok as part of my ambitious mission to do both Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon and Angkor Wat Half-Marathon (blogged about it here) back-to-back with only one week gap in between.

Either I messed with the date or the date messed with me, the date for Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon seemed to have been brought forward by one week and the so-called mission of doing at least two international marathons before the year-end was shattered to pieces.  Damn. Continue reading →
