Now, Lenggong Valley might have surprised a lot of people when it became the only fourth <strong>UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/strong> in Malaysia after <strong>Mount Kinabalu, Mulu, Malacca<\/strong> and <strong>George Town<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jipp-world.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/lenggong-valley-the-latest-unesco-site-in-malaysia\/taiping-to-lenggong-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6509\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6509 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black; margin-top: 1px; margin-bottom: 1px;\" title=\"taiping to lenggong\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jipp-world.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/taiping-to-lenggong1.bmp\" width=\"461\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Whenever I come to a country for the first time, I\u2019d usually search for its <a title=\"List of UNESCO Sites\" href=\"http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\" target=\"_blank\">UNESCO World Heritage sites<\/a> knowing that it\u2019s going to be worthwhile to visit every one of them. I mean, everybody knows that to be getting inscribed on the list is not easy. If there was one place that we would go to first, we knew it\u2019d be the <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lenggong Archaeological Museum<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">. Trusting the Papago to lead the way for us, we found it in the least expected place, surrounded by nothingness but palm-oil plantation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jipp-world.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/lenggong-valley-the-latest-unesco-site-in-malaysia\/2012-09-16-16-54-11\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6554\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6554 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black; margin-top: 1px; margin-bottom: 1px;\" title=\"2012-09-16 16.54.11\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jipp-world.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012-09-16-16.54.11.jpg\" width=\"461\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jipp-world.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012-09-16-16.54.11.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.jipp-world.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012-09-16-16.54.11-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Archaeological excavations have been done quite extensively in Lenggong Valley for the past few years with a lot of findings including it\u2019s most remarkable and treasured finding \u2013 the <strong>Perak Man<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most of the findings are now on the display at the museum but I gotta warn you &#8211; you have to look at them through the eye of an\u00a0archaeologist\u00a0only then you\u2019ll see their true values to human history. Otherwise you\u2019d only see them as nothing more than merely pieces of rock. I was told that it is now kept at the <strong>National Museum<\/strong> in KL so what they have now at Lenggong Archaeological museum was just a replica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I think it was about time that they should consider bringing him back to where he belongs. A barrier tape had been used to seal the place but I don\u2019t think it was enough to hinder people from entering the cave area. For now, I don\u2019t really see it. Not yet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But at least my mission of going there was accomplished. My next (and last) destination in Perak had kept me dancing in excitement as my travel buddy-cum-driver drove the car nearer and nearer to the place that I had always wanted to go to for a very long time \u2013 IPOH.
