This is gonna be a very short post. I returned to KL last night and thanks to fireflyz.com.my<\/strong><\/a> for postponing my flight to midnight, it would be my very first midnight flight after so many years. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Good thing about flying in the middle of the night is \u2013 it doesn\u2019t take much effort to make yourself fall asleep. Even if you are thousands feet off the ground, your biological clock still demands you to go to sleep before midnight. Thanks to that, 2 hours and 25 minutes wheezed by almost totally unnoticed.\"\"<\/a>But then, touching down in KLIA at 2.30 in the morning, I had to prepare myself to sleep in the cold air inside the airport terminal. Taking a taxi after midnight would cost me a bomb and taking the KLIA Express train<\/strong><\/a> would only get me as far as KL Sentral. I would still have to take a taxi back to my place. So \u2013 I opted to stay back at the KLIA airport at least until six in the morning when every means of transportation would be fully operational. 3 hours to kill had given me an ample time to wander aimlessly around the giant terminal \u2013 which is like most other major airports in Malaysia \u2013 overbuilt and probably\u00a0 too unnecessarily big.<\/p>\n

I was quite surprised to see so many people sleeping at the airport. It reminded me of the long long night I had to spend sleeping on the floor of Stansted Airport in London a few years ago. In fact, I couldn\u2019t find a single unoccupied bench at the departure hall which is probably the best spot to take a nap considering the dimmed lights and regular checks by the security personnel.<\/p>\n

A little wander down to the\u00a01st floor of the building had led me to a little finding. OH well, I did know that there are airport coaches that connect KLIA with Air Asia’s LCCT but I didn\u2019t know that are buses that cater passengers from KLIA Airport to central Kuala Lumpur. Seems like I\u2019ve been spending too much money on KLIA Express instead of cutting down on the expenses by taking a bus.\"\"<\/a>While KLIA Express \u2013 though more convenient and time-saving \u2013 requires me to fork out RM35 for as single trip<\/strong>, I could actually save RM25 if I took a bus. I mean, unless if I really was in a hurry that I needed to reach the airport in half an hour, I really think that taking a bus is not a bad choice of transportation to KLIA after all. It\u2019s actually quite convenient and the traveling time is only 1 hour \u2013 more or less.\"\"<\/a>Oh, and it runs 24 hours although the departures might be less frequent after midnight. The\u00a0 bus stops at Puduraya Station<\/strong> before continuing to KL Sentra<\/strong>l as its final destination.<\/p>\n

One thing you might want to know is the parking charges rate in KLIA. Quite expected, it is quite expensive (RM43 for 24 hrs, RM86 for 48 hrs)<\/strong> but then if you are going on a very short trip, you might want to consider driving to KLIA and park your car there. There\u2019s always something assuring about driving your own car to the airport than taking any of the public transports.<\/p>\n

By 4 am, my eyes were too leaden heavy to stay open so I found some little bench on the 2nd<\/sup> floor \u2013 barely enough to accommodate the whole of me \u2013 and surrendered myself to the biological demand of a good decent sleep.\"\"<\/a>I just hope I didn\u2019t snore loud enough to command unnecessary attention from the passers-by. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
